Asset | FIRST International is the study association for Bachelor students of International Business (IB), International Business Administration (IBA) and for Master students International Business. Within these study programmes, most students spend a semester abroad, as it is highly recommended and students are mostly internationally oriented. As studying abroad is an unforgettable and equally enriching experience, with an upfront good preparation - Asset | FIRST International wants to help its members who are interested in studying abroad. Therefore, we made a special section on our website that will help you with various issues regarding spending a semester abroad.
Hence, Asset | FIRST International will provide help by identifying the most important steps of the application procedure as well as by providing supplementary services.
1. The location
First of all, you have to look for a location that you think fits best to your needs or interests. This choice can be based on the range of courses the partner university is offering, the language that is spoken in that country and various other reasons such as cultural aspects.
On the website of the International office, you can find all the information with regards to requirements that have to be fulfilled as well as a list of all partner universities available.
2. The motivation letter
After choosing an appropriate location, the second important issue is to get accepted. A good motivation letter can help increase your chances of getting accepted. Since we know from experience that writing a motivation letter can be quiet hard we can provide you with some examples.
However, even after getting accepted, we can imagine that you still have a lot of remaining questions that the international office might not always be able to answer. Therefore, Asset | FIRST International introduced the following supplementary services.
A study abroad forum (in process)
A collection of experience reports
An international dinner
In the study abroad forum, you are free to ask all your questions related to your choice of destination. Answers to your questions will be answered by members of Asset | First International that already spent a semester in the location that you are interested in.
Furthermore, we can provide you a collection of experience reports written by students who went abroad which can be found in our room, E114. In these reports, you will gain an insight about the personal experiences that the students experienced with regard to courses, cultural issues etc.
Moreover, Asset | FIRST International organises an international dinner two times a year: One in October, where ongoing students can get an orientation on the possible destinations, and one in May, when students already know your destination and can ask more specific and practical questions.
Hopefully, you find some interesting information on this website.
If you still have further remaining questions and prefer to ask us in person, you can always drop by at the room, E114 or send an email to:
