Every year Asset | FIRST International organises a symposium to offer an extra informative experience for students of Tilburg University. The symposium committee makes sure that this day takes place and is well organised: making sure that interesting speakers attend the symposium, taking care of acquiring sponsors and even making sure that there is hot coffee during the breaks.

The committee starts of with brainstorming about a new topic. An interesting symposium calls for a topic that is recent, interesting and can be viewed from multiple viewpoints (which triggers discussion). After a topic has been chosen and is thoroughly researched the committee needs to start looking for candidates for the board of recommendation and a chairman of the day.

The topic of the symposium is then gaining shape. A programme of the day is designed, letters are written to approach potential speakers, companies are contacted to acquire sponsoring, and of course a budget is drawn up.

In the period that follows promotion is started up, a website is launched and posters are being sent to the printer. The day is getting closer and speakers and companies have agreed to take part in the symposium.

Eventually, after months of hard work and organising everything is done and the big day has arrived. During the symposium day the committees work is all coming together to provide another great and interesting experience at Tilburg University.
