Committee Description
Every year we organise the Language Study Tour; a trip of approximately one week to a Spanish city. During this week we will have 4 hours of Spanish lectures in the morning, and in the afternoon enough spare time to explore the city, get to know the culture, and of course have lots of fun!
The tasks of the Language Study Tour consist of choosing a destination, arrange the language school, arrange transportation, arrange cultural activities, arrange accommodation and of course promoting the travel.
Last year we went to Madrid, this year we will go again to Madrid from the 16th of January until the 22nd of January. This because of the good contact with the language school. However, the most important fact is that the trip should be payable and that depends mainly on the flight tickets and accommodation.
When a destination is chosen, indications of ticket and accommodation prices are already present. Thus then it is time to book those things and start with making a cultrual programme. Then it is time for promotion by means of lecture talks and an announcement on Blackboard. Because we aim for students that follow Spanish we only promote during the Spanish 1 lectures. After that it is time to make a detailed script for every day and by then you will depart to your destination. During the stay you, together with the rest of the committee, will be responsible for the guidance of all students till you safely return in Tilburg. Last, after the trip, an evaluation of the activity and the organisation will follow to come up with recommendations and tips for the future committees.
The Language Study Tour committee is part of the IB committee and starts up in the beginning of the first semester. For this year the committee is already full, but if you are interested, you can always contact us by sending an email to:
