Finance Expedition Committee

From November 15 until November 18, 2011 the fourth edition of the Finance Expedition took place. The Finance Expedition is an activity organized by representatives of study associations Asset | Accounting & Finance, Asset | Econometrics and Asset | First International. The Finance Expedition is a three day event in which five different financial companies and institutions in the Randstad area are visited. For this edition, Rabobank, Rembrandt Fusies & Overnames, Kempen & Co, NIBC and Flow Traders participated in The Finance Expedition. At each company a case study was provided by the company and students also had the opportunity to talk to company representatives afterwards.

What does the committee do?
The tasks of the Finance Expedition committee consist of contacting companies, informing them about the activity and maintaining contact with them if they are interested in participation. Also the committee has to arrange accommodation and transportation and has to develop a detailed program of the day. In the beginning of the first semester the promotion of the Finance Expedition will start and, then, the committee will have to promote the activity. When the Finance Expedition takes place, the committee will guide the participating students during the three days. After the Finance Expedition has taken place, an evaluation of the activity and the organization will follow to come up with recommendations and tips for the future committees.

What does the committee learn?
The committee will first together think out/ adjust the concept of this year's edition of the Finance Expedition. They will need to contact a lot of companies by telephone in order to convince them to participate in the day. After the companies are arranged, the committee really needs to think of how to make the day appealing to students and to have a satisfactory number of participants.

Interested in joining the committee?
The committee of every edition of the Finance Expedition will start up in the beginning of the second semester and will last until November, when the event takes place.
